The fact that machinery moves during operation is established and well documented.

Many manufacturers of rotating equipment provide expansion data for their products derived from theoretical calculations. It is Precision Concepts position that no matter how painstakingly careful one is in approaching these calculations, and no matter how sophisticated the mathematical approach, unavoidable limitations are encountered when applying pure theory to field situations. Furthermore, thermal growth is not the only contributor to positional change of on-line machinery.

Our Alignment Solutions

Laser Alignment

Laser Alignment

Laser technology, when employed correctly, limits the human element to the most fundamental task of setup. With all measuring tasks being performed by a transducer linked to a data collector (personal computer), Precision Concepts rotating equipment specialists have the chance to concentrate on the process rather than measuring tasks. Fixtures are kept to minimal sizes, thus reducing the chance for uncertainty of measurements via systematic error in bracketing. Sag is not a consideration with lasers.

Boralign

BORALIGN

BORALIGN®, the latest development for the measuring of bores and bearings in internal combustion engines, compressors, turbines, pumps and other machinery. BORALIGN® is also designed for marine applications (stern tube bearing alignment) as well as for the alignment of work pieces to a boring head

BORALIGN is a laser alignment system designed for the measurement and alignment of bores and internal elements of rotating machines such as bearing rings, diaphragms, nozzles, inner shells and turbine casings with tops on or off. It offers a far more convenient and accurate alternative to the traditional methods using piano wires, micrometers and cumbersome theodolite telescopes.

BORALIGN® offers true bore center measurement, not just bore straightness. It measures whether multiple bores are in line with one another and with the rotating centerline of the shaft. Its measurement results to ISO 9000/MIMOSA standards can be documented through any office printer.

Rotalign Ultra

ROTALIGN ULTRA & ULTRA iS

ROTALIGN touch is the first laser shaft alignment system on the market to combine high precision on-site measuring tasks and cloud connectivity for worldwide data access and transfer. It features the unique sensALIGN 7 laser and sensor heads offering a full range of everyday alignment routines up to expert degree alignment jobs – such as cardan shaft alignment or coupling alignment.

With the ALIGNMENT RELIABILITY CENTER 4.0 software, work orders may be sent via the cloud to a mobile ROTALIGN touch unit anywhere in the world. Measurement results are sent back straight from the unit into the alignment software for monitoring and advanced reporting. Asset-specific work orders and RFID machine identification make it possible to track the alignment of individual assets over time (alignment trend), making alignment data a dynamic condition monitoring parameter for asset management and condition-based maintenance programs.

Proper repair and reconditioning of turbines, combustion engines, compressors and pumps require an exact alignment measurement of rotors, crankshaft and camshaft bores, cylinder bores and crosshead guides.
